Gregg Gallery at The Art Institute of HoustonTen years after his death, the paintings of Kyle Rislow, a Houston Community College art instructor and former Director of Visual Communications (similar to Graphic Design) at The Art Institute of Houston, came to life.This is an exhibit featuring recently discovered works of the late Kyle Rislow, on loan from Houston Community College. Rislow taught at Houston Community College during the late 90's and was Director of Visual Communications at The Art Institute of Houston. The paintings in the exhibit are works he completed in the 1970's and may have never been shown before. He moved them from town to town, eventually amassing hundreds of paintings and thousands of drawings in storage units. At his death in 1998, a lifetime of paintings and drawings was eventually discovered.Kyle Rislow received a four-year certificate in Fine Arts from Ringling School of Art and then his BFA and MFA from Carnegie-Mellon. He started his career as a painter in Florida, with other shows in Mississippi, Pennsylvania, Texas and Washington.
