Wine Tasting: Navigating the Loire, A Wine Journey
France and fine wines are synonymous and one of the finest wine-producing regions of that country is the Loire Valley. Known for legendary chateaux, the Loire Valley is the geographical and cultural heart of France. The vineyards grow along a 300-mile stretch of the country’s longest river, the Loire, covering several distinct climates and a wide variety of soils, which makes for the diversity that is the hallmark of Loire Valley wines. There are 65 appellations that include every style of wine – red, white, rosé, still, Sparkling, sweet, dry, and everything in between – and are the most popular wines ordered in the restaurants of France. You’ll learn about the different grape varieties, sample the familiar, and discover some new varieties. The tasting begins at 7:30 pm; cost is $25 per person plus tax and gratuity.
