The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of Washington hosts viewing premiere of "The Next Food Network Star" with in-person appearance by Teddy Folkman, executive chef of DC's Granville Moore.

WHAT: A private sneak preview viewing party of the premiere episode of the popular series "The Next Food Network Star" at The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of Washington. The private event for prospective culinary students will feature an appearance by Teddy Folkman, one of ten finalists.

WHEN: Saturday, June 6, 5:00 pm

WHERE: The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of Washington, 1820 North Fort Myer Drive Arlington, VA 22209, 12th floor in the Dining Lab.

WHO: Teddy Folkman, co-owner and executive chef of Granville Moore's Gastropub in Washington, D.C., developed his love of food at a young age while working at a deli and honed his culinary skills and style under several well-known chefs. Now, Teddy focuses on sharing simple techniques to inspire people to think and cook like chefs. Teddy spends his free time teaching cooking fundamentals to local high school students, and he won a mussels and fries challenge on Throwdown with Bobby Flay in 2008. Folkman is also a former culinary student at The Art Institute of Washington.

Teddy Folkman will be on hand to sign autographs, mix and mingle with the guests, and answer questions on the reality of reality TV. Refreshments will be served by the chef instructors and students of The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of Washington.

The Next Food Network Star premieres Sunday, June 7 at 9p|8c. As television's most challenging food fight, the series provides 10 hopeful TV chefs the chance to compete for the ultimate dream job: his or her own Food Network show. Iron Chef Bobby Flay leads the selection committee that ultimately decides the winner's fate and launches one lucky man or woman into a food and television celebrity. To start things off, the finalists must cater Food Network’s "Sweet 16" party with network talent and media there to judge. The series will air throughout the summer on Sundays at 9p|8c, until the finale on Sunday, August 2, when the winner will be revealed!
