The Cool vs. Cruel competition encourages design students enrolled in The Art Institutes fashion programs all over North America to produce fur-free, animal-friendly fashions by using their own creativity to replace real fur in fashion. Check out the rules for this year’s Competition. Dozens of students from The Art Institutes schools participated in last year’s competition. Their entries were shown to a star-studded panel of judges including celebrities and top designers. This year's grand prize winner, Jolie Benner from The Art Institute of Portland received a trip to New York City for the award presentation on Nov. 8, as well as a paid week-long internship with a top designer.
