Jonathan Miller
The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of Atlanta’s  Best Teen Chef 2008

Jonathan Miller credits his mother as his inspiration for cooking.  While he was growing up, “every day we would sit together and watch Great Chefs of the East/West,” said Jonathan.  “This simple, daily act instilled in me a passion I hope to turn into a career.”

Jonathan loves to experiment in the kitchen.  “A few of my favorite recipes are small meat dumplings called Gyoza, or a tortellini crafted from an Alton Brown recipe, complete with home-made pasta.”  Jonathan acknowledges that his creations aren’t restaurant caliber yet, but “they fill me with great amounts of satisfaction and pride.”  His friends support his goals to become a professional chef. “They are more than happy to eat what I cook,” concedes Jonathan.

His future plans? Jonathan wants a career where he can achieve the same levels of satisfaction and pride as when he is experimenting at home.  He hopes to be working in “a nice kitchen somewhere in Atlanta or another big city.”

When he is not in school or working, Jonathan enjoys hanging out with his friends.  For relaxation, the Savannah resident treks up to Atlanta for a quick break.
